About The Position

Tecsys is seeking a driven Software Development Manager to lead teams of passionate professionals responsible for the design, analysis, and development of world-class Supply Chain Management solutions. The company is a fast-growing innovator in supply chain solutions for healthcare, distribution, retail, and third-party logistics industries. This role involves overseeing development efforts, managing day-to-day challenges, and ensuring teams perform at their highest level in developing, deploying, and maintaining SaaS software. The manager will evaluate existing solutions, collaborate on technical decisions, determine project and resource schedules, monitor timelines, and ensure team milestones and goals are met. A key aspect of the role is supporting a team of skilled developers through the evolution of development practices, including the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering to enhance productivity, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

5+ years in team and project management in a SaaS environment.
Thirst for challenge, drive, and ability to motivate others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for teamwork.
Experience in team leadership and change management.
Experience in team expansion, including hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision.
Deep knowledge and experience of agile values and principles.
College or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication.
Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada, OR, have a valid Canadian work permit.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the development efforts and day-to-day challenges of teams responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining SaaS software.
Evaluating existing solutions to collaborate on technical decisions.
Determining projects and resource schedules.
Monitoring project timelines and ensuring that team milestones and goals are met.
Managing a team of highly skilled and experienced developers.
Supporting the team through the ongoing evolution of development practices, including the effective and responsible adoption of AI-assisted software engineering.
Developing and leading teams of developers, lead developers, software developers in test, and quality assurance analysts.
Developing and communicating a clear, strategic vision and project goals.
Determining project schedules, monitoring timelines, and ensuring that milestones and goals are met.
Collaborating with Product Management and technical leadership to validate plans and ensure delivery of effective solutions.
Leading the team through the evolution of software development practices, including the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
Overseeing and facilitating efficient agile practices.
Helping teams identify, evaluate, and implement practical uses of AI to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and speed of delivery.
Nurturing motivation and well-being within the teams.
Steering team career development and addressing training needs.
