About The Position
MaintainX is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead their DevOps team. This role involves scaling infrastructure across multiple regions and driving continuous deployment. The manager will be responsible for platform engineering, including developer experience, infrastructure reliability, and the systems that enable rapid, stable development. The company is a fast-growing, AI-powered maintenance and asset management platform that has recently secured significant Series D funding and recognition on the Forbes Cloud 100 list.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Software Development management experience with a background in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- Experience shipping production infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud-native systems.
- Ability to engage on hard technical problems with the team.
- Track record of measurably improving developer experience and platform reliability at scale.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate infrastructure complexity for product and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to hire and build high-performing technical teams.
- Comfortable leading teams that use AI-assisted development tools as a core part of their workflow.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with multi-region environments, infrastructure as code, and modern CI/CD platforms.
- Familiarity with compliance-driven infrastructure (SOC 2, FedRAMP, ISO270001 or similar).
- Experience scaling a DevOps function in a fast-growth SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of platform and DevOps software developers, providing direction, removing blockers, and developing talent.
- Own the DevOps roadmap, balancing improvements in developer experience, platform efficiency, and infrastructure reliability.
- Partner with product engineering teams to build tooling and self-service capabilities for deployment ownership.
- Collaborate with the security team to ensure environmental compliance and provide a secure platform for development teams.
- Drive infrastructure strategy across cloud, container orchestration, CI/CD, and observability.
- Hire, onboard, and grow a high-performing team.
- Provide clear visibility into team progress, risks, and outcomes to engineering leadership.
