About The Position

The purpose of this position is to lead a team to design, troubleshoot, and optimize the City’s software programs and products, by monitoring applications, resolving issues, and analyzing and implementing applicable trends. This role oversees the administration, support, enhancement, integration, and continued development of the City’s Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment and related business systems. The manager applies knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, and designing software applications and operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. They build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture, ensuring appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet specifications. Additionally, this role manages a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc. The manager supervises personnel by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring adequate staff training, compliance with operation standards and adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining a safe work environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Supplemental functions include performing other similar duties and projects as required.
