About The Position

At Clover, the SDET will help advance merchant and consumer payment platforms by scaling quality engineering for Consumer Mobile Application automation, Web/UI CI/CD test suites, and point-of-sale device testing. This hands-on technical role shapes test automation architecture, shifts testing earlier in development, builds resilient mobile and hardware test beds, streamlines CI/CD release pipelines, and automates end-to-end user journeys across merchant devices and consumer applications. The role works closely with Product Owners and Software Engineers to establish acceptance criteria and integrate automated coverage into sprint deliverables. It also contributes to API and contract validation, defect investigation, quality metrics, and product and UX feedback. The position is on-site Monday through Friday and requires use of a computer and audio equipment. Applicants must already have valid, unrestricted U.S. work authorization; candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future are not considered.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional experience in Software QA Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Software Development.
At least 2 years of hands-on programming experience in Java, TypeScript, or Python.
At least 2 years of dedicated experience building, maintaining, and executing automated UI and API test frameworks.
Proven expertise testing REST APIs using tools and concepts such as Postman, HTTP, and JSON.
Experience writing SQL queries for data verification.
Practical experience testing front-end UI, service/API layers, and back-end databases.
Proficiency with defect tracking and test management systems such as Jira, Confluence, ALM, or MTM.
Valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization, with no need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with Appium for iOS and Android mobile automation.
Experience with Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end web application and UI testing.
Familiarity with Karate Framework for API automation, mock services, and contract validation.
Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Gemini.
Exposure to developing load, stress, and performance testing frameworks and scenarios.
Ability to configure test environments and integrate automated test runs into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Harness.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and scale automated testing frameworks for native iOS and Android apps, web interfaces, and physical point-of-sale hardware.
Develop and maintain UI and functional test suites for Consumer Mobile Applications and embedded terminal devices.
Expand automated REST API test suites and mock services integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with Product Owners and Software Engineers to review user stories, define acceptance criteria early, and include automated test coverage in sprint deliverables.
Debug platform issues, perform root-cause analysis on test failures, and track quality metrics using Jira and Confluence.
Use AI tools to accelerate test-script development, refactor framework code, and generate synthetic test data.
Provide technical feedback to improve product design and user experience.
