Sr Associate Software Development Engineer (US Federal)

About The Position

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). We are currently seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join us in our Atlanta, Georgia office. You will be part of an engineering team with expertise building search and ML based predictive data into Workday applications.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software development engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in the following programming languages: Java and/or Scala.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong foundational understanding of Algorithmic Thinking
  • Familiarity with API Development, including RESTful services.
  • Good understanding of Code Testing methodologies, and experience writing unit and integration tests.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and their application in software design.
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Scala
  • Hands-on experience with Source Control Management (SCM) tools (like Git) and standard branching strategies.
  • Excellent Team Collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively within an agile engineering team.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear Technical Documentation.
  • Must be a United States citizen (naturalized or native) due to federal government security requirements for contracts.
