About The Position
As a member of Esri’s software development team, you will build and release software technologies at the intersection of GIS, photogrammetry, and remote sensing for defense and intelligence communities. You will collaborate with software developers and product engineers to create, build, test, and release technologies for imagery users. The work involves designing and building tools that support a wide range of analytical workflows and imagery sources, including multispectral and hyperspectral imagery, thermal infrared, RADAR, LiDAR, motion imagery, and other remotely sensed data and information.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
- Demonstrated experience with Java, Servlets, JSP, TLS and PKI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and REST.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Design systems, software architecture, and implement Esri GIS software products.
- Use an understanding of user requirements and GIS and geospatial technology to guide system design and implementation.
- Develop ArcGIS software products by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Define, implement, maintain, and document software architecture, algorithms, and data structures.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to identify requirements for products, features, fixes, functionality, and capabilities.
- Translate software requirements into technical specifications.
- Write and participate in code reviews to ensure quality code follows coding standards.
- Maintain code in a comprehensive shared repository and analyze and repair software defects.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and execute test plans and ensure software quality.
- Plan and execute software development projects using software development methodologies.
- Stay current with existing and emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
