Software Development Engineer
About The Position
Fortinet is hiring a Software Development Engineer to develop and maintain software for its current and future products. The role focuses on switch-controller features for the FortiGate/FortiSwitch product line and includes hands-on bug fixing for current products. The engineer is expected to deliver high-quality software features on schedule and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Fortinet was founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000 and develops cybersecurity and networking-security products. Its portfolio includes more than 50 enterprise-grade products, and the company reports that more than 930,000 customers use its solutions.
Requirements
- 0–3 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong C and Linux experience.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, switching, and routing.
- Familiarity with socket programming.
- Familiarity with ARM and x86 architectures in a multiprocess/thread programming environment.
- Knowledge of general QA procedures and methodologies and software development fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Shell and Python scripting languages.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
