Software Development Engineer, Leo Manufacturing Software Systems
About The Position
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help solve technical challenges related to manufacturing satellites, ground equipment, and associated ASICs. This role involves translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, building prototypes, and working with multiple technical teams across various domains including software, hardware, networks, RF, embedded, real-time, distributed systems, and industrial automation. This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- U.S. Citizen
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Full-stack development experience, including telemetry collection, infrastructure as code, authorization, authentication and identity management
Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing software to drive the assembly, calibration, testing, and provisioning of satellites.
- Collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design manufacturing software.
- Design and develop end-to-end system capabilities required for manufacturing orchestration across factory production lines.
- Actively engaged in developing Leo's secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities.
- Develop, qualify, produce, and deploy solutions and products enabling Leo's global network.
