About The Position

Amazon Prime Video is disrupting traditional media with an ever-increasing selection of movies, TV shows, Emmy Award winning original content, add-on subscriptions including HBO and Showtime, and Live events like Thursday Night Football and Major League Baseball. We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate and resourceful SDEs capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done.

We would love to have you join us in the Prime Video Catalog Selection team to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of content rights, offers, and consumption policies - ingesting partner intent, transforming it into customer-facing selection, and distributing it through canonical APIs. As a Software Development Engineer and a part of the Prime Video Core Engineering team, you will work on designing and developing the systems and infrastructures used by Amazon millions of customers worldwide and will regularly interact with product management and senior engineering leadership. You will help to build our technology vision and create people first and high-performing engineering culture towards achieving a focused mission.

To accomplish this, you will be expected to have an established background in building highly scalable systems and system design, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about connecting customer problems through underlying scalable software that raises the bar on customer and operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, will be very applicable and helpful.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
