About The Position

Join our forward-thinking engineering team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). We are modernizing our quality assurance approach and looking for a passionate technologist ready to lead the evolution of test automation. This role blends hands-on automation, technical leadership, and collaboration, empowering agile teams to achieve faster, higher-quality releases.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript for test automation.
  • Strong experience in API testing (REST/SOAP).
  • Expertise in UI test automation and building scalable frameworks.
  • Hands-on with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing.
  • Solid SQL skills for data validation.
  • Proven collaboration skills with agile feature teams.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions and strategies clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Migration experience from Selenium + Java or Postman/Newman to modern frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Cypress or similar test automation tools.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., qTest, QMetry) and requirements traceability.
  • Knowledge of DevOps quality metrics, test reporting, and dashboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable, maintainable, and integrated test automation frameworks for UI and API testing using Playwright (TypeScript preferred).
  • Guide agile feature teams in adopting a test-first mindset, collaborating on acceptance criteria and quality strategies during story refinement and design sessions.
  • Drive the migration from legacy automation tools (Selenium + Java, Postman) to unified, modern frameworks aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and execute robust automated API tests (REST/SOAP) and end-to-end scenarios covering functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to ensure tests run in CI/CD pipelines and provide immediate, actionable feedback.
  • Design test cases, perform exploratory testing, and validate complex workflows not yet automated.
  • Participate in code reviews and influence test architecture for reliability, reusability, and scalability.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data integrity validation and test data creation.
  • Mentor peers, champion automation best practices, and foster continuous improvement in quality engineering.
  • Support manual testing, test case documentation, and quality validation when automation coverage is incomplete.
  • Ensure requirements traceability, defect management, and compliance with HIPAA, security, and audit standards.
