Software Development Engineer in Test
About The Position
Join a forward-thinking engineering team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), where you’ll drive the modernization of our test automation strategy. We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver who understands the "why" behind their work and can clearly articulate complex solutions. You’ll architect robust test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript, collaborate in Agile teams, and champion both automated and manual quality best practices. Requirements
- Hands-on expertise with Playwright (TypeScript preferred) for UI and API automation.
- Strong background in building test automation frameworks and integrating tests in CI/CD environments.
- Proficient in REST/API testing and writing, optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience in Agile development environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain test strategies and decisions effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Migration experience from Selenium/Java or Postman to modern frameworks.
- Familiarity with test reporting, dashboarding, and quality metrics in DevOps settings.
- Experience with test case management tools and requirements traceability (e.g., qTest, QMetry).
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve scalable test automation frameworks for UI and API testing using Playwright (TypeScript) and related tools.
- Lead the transition from legacy automation (Selenium/Java, Postman/Newman) to modern, unified frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Agile feature teams to define acceptance criteria, promote test-first strategies, and ensure user story coverage.
- Design, execute, and document test cases—including exploratory and manual testing for complex, non-automated workflows.
- Develop and maintain automated API tests (REST/SOAP) and comprehensive end-to-end test suites.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions to maximize test reliability, scalability, and reusability.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test data management.
- Serve as a quality engineering champion, mentoring peers and continuously improving QA practices and metrics.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects, supporting compliance with HIPAA, security, and audit standards.
