Software Development Engineer in Test 2
About The Position
Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our SDET2 (Software Development Engineer in Test II) in Test Engineering. The Test Engineering is the team that is responsible for the quality of the choice hotel’s products we develop and deliver. As a key member of our Test Engineering department, you will be responsible to ensure the reliability, functionality, and quality of software systems and applications used in various aspects of the hospitality sector with primary focus on enhances guest experience, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in manual and automation testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Programming: Java (required), Python
- Strong hands-on experience with Automation: TestNG, RestAssured, Maven, Git
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloud: AWS (EC2, Lambda)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Harness.
- Strong SQL and data validation skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and qTest.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Self-driven, accountable, and able to work independently.
- Continuous learner with a passion for improving technical and testing skills.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and leveraging AI to improve testing efficiency and quality.
- Experience in Finance and/or Hospitality domains is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated tests for API, Web, and Database applications.
- Automate manual test cases, expand regression coverage, and enhance test automation frameworks.
- Execute automated tests, analyze results, and perform root cause analysis of failures.
- Integrate test execution, environment setup, and test data management into CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage test environments, create test data, and document reusable test cases and scenarios.
- Collaborate with Product, Business, Development, and QA teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage work through backlogs and defect tracking tools.
- Log, track, and communicate defects with clear impact analysis and reproduction steps.
