About The Position

Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) is a global leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, seeking a Software Engineer for Popeyes in the US&C region. This role is crucial for enhancing digital experiences that influence guest decisions, including engagement, ordering, promotions, loyalty, and franchise operations. The engineer will contribute production code daily, ship features rapidly, and collaborate within a team to drive business impact. RBI emphasizes a 5-day in-office work schedule to foster collaboration, with this position based in Miami, FL.

Requirements

3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping features that touch millions of users, quickly and efficiently.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
Experience with GraphQL (Apollo Federation preferred).
Cloud expertise, preferably AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Experience with CI/CD tools (CircleCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and automation pipelines.
Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch).
Understanding of testing methodologies (A/B Testing and Experimentation).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrate fluency with AI coding assistants as a daily development tool, candidates should be comfortable discussing how they structure prompts, manage context, use plan/agent modes, and evaluate AI output.

Nice To Haves

Experience in QSR, retail, or consumer-facing digital businesses preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver features for critical guest facing, team member facing and franchisee facing digital features.
Contribute meaningful production code across React, Node.js, and TypeScript-based systems.
Consider the performance and scalability of code handling high transaction volumes.
Ensure overall code quality through code reviews and the introduction of engineering best practices.
Lead the development of new features from concept through deployment, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
Collaborate with teams and relevant stakeholders to refine requirements and push technological boundaries.
Champion testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical excellence.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools effectively, including writing clear prompts, authoring instruction/context files, scoping plans for execution, and reviewing AI-generated code with rigor.
