Software Development Engineer - C#/.NET (Cambridge, MA)
About The Position
Work as a Software Engineer on the Hospital Patient Monitoring Team, and you will be working in an Agile environment responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for our Real-time Patient Monitoring platform using technologies including .NET Framework, C#, React, GraphQL, Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes. Your role: Lead the development of next-generation patient monitoring software as a hands-on full-stack contributor while mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, championing engineering best practices, and fostering technical excellence through coaching, feedback, and continuous learning initiatives. Write clear specifications, create detailed technical designs, and implement creative software solutions. Define scope and problem domain in a crisp and structured way: define the problem with stakeholders and identify key issues. Design and develop software components considering elasticity, scalability, reliability, interoperability, security, serviceability & networking needs. Deliver SW modules and components meeting the requirements, quality standards, and timelines. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporate new tools and methodologies to improve development processes and product quality. Analyze and optimize application performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks to enhance user experience and system efficiency, ensure the software meets performance benchmarks.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming and Design, C#, and .NET
- Experience with Microservices, Web Services, and Relational databases
- Skills include React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL/SQL Server, Performance tuning
- Ability to work within a cross-functional team in an Agile development cycle, focused on designing and developing code on an agile team of Engineers using Continuous Integration/Continuous deployment technologies such as Azure and GitHub
- Understanding of design patterns and practical experience in applying those patterns to address fundamental challenges in large-scale, mission-critical system development
- Ability to influence software engineering best practices within the team
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce high-quality work independently
- Ability to work well in a team
