About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a results-oriented, self-driven Development Engineer to join the AWS Partner Systems team. This role involves creating the next generation of distributed, scalable systems that support AWS' current and future business needs. The position is in a fast-paced environment, dealing with high volumes of data and complex business contexts. The engineer will design and develop services that process millions of transactions in a secured environment, leveraging practical experience in building high-performance, reliable systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture). The role offers opportunities to work on all levels of the product, from front-end user experience to robust platform services and system-level components. The ideal candidate is customer-centric, passionate about building quality software, and committed to operational excellence, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Nice To Haves

• Cloud experience
• Experience with asynchronous workflow, big-data and AWS technologies
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Own significant portions of the product and influence strategy by defining the next wave of product features and system architecture.
• Design and develop services that process millions of transactions in a secured environment.
• Build secured, highly available, performant, and scalable systems, web services, products, and integrations between cloud and on-prem applications.
• Work on complex system software, focusing on customer-centric solutions and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with business and technical partners.
