About The Position

We established the Technology & Operations Program (TOP) in 2000 to develop our next generation of leaders. During this two-year program for recent graduates, Associates experience four challenging six-month rotations in a particular track or career path, in this case, Software Development, before joining a permanent team. Associates will have the unique opportunity to rotate through many areas of the business gaining exposure and visibility across the firm, while benefitting from formalized training and mentorship. Software development teams support a vast range of investment and financial platforms, including equities, fixed income, sales, trading, multi-asset solutions, private client, research, corporate finance, data management, and more. In each rotation you will be part of a different software development team, implementing functional and technical specifications provided by business analysts and development managers. You will learn both the functional and technical aspects of an application in addition to the languages and frameworks used for construction. All development rotations involve hands-on learning, supported by team members, project managers, and formal technology training. Software Developers use just about every programming language at AllianceBernstein, so Associates will learn and apply a broad range of technical skills throughout the rotations. Examples of Software Development Rotations: Developing an analytics and pricing engine for mortgage-backed securities Implementing new quantitative models and enhancement of the portfolio management process Developing a system to identify trading opportunities based on new strategies Building a bond recommendation engine Automating trade processes to reduce risk and maximize efficiency
