About The Position

Electronic Arts is hiring a Software Developer to build the agentic harness that turns intent into working games, including workflows that let an agent write, run, evaluate, and repair its own work. The role focuses on creator-oriented generative technologies and integrating them into the game engine, with attention to thoughtful product design, safety, and developer usability. This is a hybrid role, onsite three days per week, based in Redwood City, Montreal, or Vancouver. The role is listed as a regular employee position.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software development experience with AAA game engines, such as Frostbite, Unity, Unreal, Godot, or a proprietary engine.
  • Expertise in C++.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with agentic harnesses and workflows, such as Claude Code, Codex, or Opencode.
  • Experience with context engineering, graph engineering, and long-running workflow orchestration.
  • Experience in one or more game engine development domains, such as gameplay, simulation, systems, content pipelines, or performance-critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and extend an agentic harness for game logic generation, including tool orchestration, context management, and integration into the engine.
  • Partner with engine developers to integrate creator-focused systems into core engine architecture and enable generative creation workflows.
  • Implement guardrails such as sandboxed execution, permissioned tool access, content-safety and IP checks, and human review points before generated content reaches players.
  • Build evaluations for agent output, including whether generated games compile, load, maintain frame rate, and match intent; turn these checks into automated regression suites that gate harness changes.
  • Partner with researchers, developers, artists, and designers to turn prototypes into production-ready engine features aligned with existing systems.
  • Design extensible interfaces that support rapid iteration on new technologies while maintaining architectural integrity and developer usability.
  • Define how new technologies are productized within the engine, influencing architecture and creator experience.

Benefits

  • Paid time off: 3 weeks per year to start.
  • 80 hours of sick time per year.
  • 16 paid company holidays per year.
  • 10 weeks of paid time off to bond with a baby.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Disability insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Certain roles may be eligible for bonuses and other incentive programs.
  • Benefits may include healthcare coverage, mental well-being support, retirement savings, paid time off, family leaves, and complimentary games.
