About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a Software Developer to build cloud services in Python that automate a federal agency’s high-volume filing intake. The role begins with developing a document pipeline that takes filings from submission through decision, using document intelligence, validation, business rules, and human-review workflows. Accuracy and auditability are essential in this regulated environment. The initial engagement is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and follows a hybrid arrangement, with commuting cadence varying by assignment. It requires United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. The work may evolve across assignments and clients; developers may move to the organization’s hardest problems as needs change. This is a full-time W-2 position with an annual salary of $92,000 to $133,000. Peregrine offers collaboration with developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists, along with onboarding, sponsored certifications and continuing education, and opportunities to rotate across functions.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of software development experience in Python.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience building APIs and SQL that move documents through to a decision.
  • Proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • United States citizenship for the initial engagement.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination for the initial engagement.

  • Develop validation, including exact and fuzzy matching, and implement business rules for filings.
  • Design human-review workflows for cases that should not be decided by automated systems alone.
  • Build APIs and SQL that move documents through the process to a decision.
  • Use AI tools to help implement, test, and improve owned components while reviewing and testing their output and remaining accountable for delivered code.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with the employee premium fully paid and half of dependent premiums covered.
