About The Position

We’re hiring a contract Software Developer (6 months) to accelerate delivery of secure, reliable API integrations on Azure. This is a tactical, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves engineering role—designing, building, testing, and production‑hardening cloud services that plug into our broader architecture. You’ll work closely with EA, platform teams, and delivery leads to implement patterns we can trust in production. Clear communication, good engineering instincts, and comfort working independently are important.

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on experience with Azure API Management and Azure Functions/.NET.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth2/OIDC flows and identity integration.
  • Practical experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfort working with App Insights, Key Vault, and the surrounding Azure ecosystem.
  • Strong testing discipline—unit, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Experience deploying and supporting production workloads in Azure.
  • Clear, pragmatic communication style and willingness to collaborate across teams.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, private endpoints, and VNet‑integrated services.
  • Comfort learning and adopting new digital tools, with an openness to using AI‑enabled technology to enhance productivity, accuracy, and the Member experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with low/no code tools like the Microsoft Power Platform and generative AI productivity tools like Microsoft Copilot is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Azure Functions and .NET services that support mission‑critical integrations.
  • Develop and publish APIs using Azure API Management, including policies, versioning, and gateway configuration.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth2/OIDC.
  • Use Azure Key Vault for secrets management and enforce secure-by-default design.
  • Instrument applications with Azure Application Insights for logging, telemetry, tracing, and operational monitoring.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with consistent build/test/deploy controls.
  • Apply strong engineering practices: automated testing, code reviews, quality gates, and performance validation.
  • Harden services for production—resiliency, scale considerations, defensive coding, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with architects to align with existing patterns and help shape reusable components.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangements with in-person office time to collaborate, innovate, and build relationships with your colleagues.
  • Inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success.
  • Tools and technology needed to delight your candidates and clients.
  • Opportunity to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders and colleagues.
  • This is not your typical “corporate” job. We work hard and we have fun!
