About The Position

We are continuously seeking talented Software Developers to join our team supporting one of our premier programs. This posting is for potential future openings as our program grows — interested candidates are encouraged to apply to be considered when positions become available. We’re looking for professionals who are highly motivated to apply their expertise in developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced, mission-critical operational networks. This full-time hybrid role, based in Lorton, VA, generally requires 10% travel (approximately once per quarter) for Program Increment (PI) planning.

Requirements

  • Active Secret, minimum clearance requirement.
  • Four (4) year college degree in software development or computer science.
  • In lieu of education, ten (10) years of experience of software development for systems in a production environment.
  • Five (5) years' experience of systems administration in a production environment.
  • Experience with system sustainment and maintenance; operating system and application patching and upgrades.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Modernizing operational mission systems to ensure mission effectiveness, reliability, and cybersecurity.
  • Designing and developing software application upgrades from high-level or non-specific government-provided concepts.
  • Producing detailed specifications and design documentation, including process flows, class and sequence diagrams, physical architectures, interfaces, and data dictionaries.
  • Creating accurate project work estimates and timelines.
  • Implementing software solutions, identifying operational issues, and contributing to ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Supporting system design, policy development, database management, and user interface development.
  • Leveraging Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software wherever possible to minimize proprietary dependencies.
  • Perform operating system upgrades and security patches to maintain mission system readiness and compliance.
  • Transition, modernize, and maintain core application codebases.
  • Collaborate on new feature implementation, technical enhancement, and reduction of technical debt to meet evolving mission requirements.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, backlog grooming, documentation updates, and environment/tooling setup.
  • Support demonstrations and technical reviews during development sprints and Program Increments.
