About The Position
Phase Technologies is seeking a Software Developer to contribute to internal business systems and its IoT product line. The role works across PhaseOps, an internal platform built with React, Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, and Phase Connect, an industrial telemetry and connectivity product. Depending on product needs, contributions to Phase Connect may involve mobile app development or embedded firmware development. The position is full-time and requires on-site work in Rapid City, South Dakota. Pay is DOE.
Requirements
- Full-stack JavaScript experience with React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
- Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing, building, consuming, and debugging REST APIs.
- Experience with Git, including branching and pull request workflows.
- At least 2 years of practical development experience.
- Willingness to develop in areas outside the candidate’s primary background.

Nice To Haves
- Prior embedded or low-level development experience in device firmware (C/C++) or kernel-level development.
- Cross-platform mobile app development.
- Embedded or kernel-level C/C++ development.
- Familiarity with BLE, MQTT, binary protocol design, Modbus, serial communication, or low-bandwidth cellular.
- Industrial or manufacturing software background.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain features in PhaseOps, the internal full-stack web platform used across sales, operations, and support.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in Node.js using MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Contribute to Phase Connect through mobile app development or embedded firmware development, depending on product needs.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and engineering teams to define and deliver features.
- Help bridge data between field devices and internal business systems.
