Software Developer - Multiple Levels (Cleared) - Reston, VA
About The Position
Noblis is seeking Software Developers at multiple experience levels to support mission-critical national security initiatives in Reston, Virginia. Developers collaborate with federal clients and multidisciplinary teams—including developers, data scientists, subject matter experts, and cyber analysts—to design, develop, enhance, and integrate software solutions that address mission challenges. The role involves analyzing client needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and using modern tools and technologies to deliver mission-focused solutions across the software development lifecycle, from programming and debugging through testing, integration, and deployment. Developers communicate project updates and progress to teammates, technical leads, and clients to maintain alignment with mission objectives. The position is offered at junior, mid, and senior levels. An active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and U.S. citizenship are required. Travel within the United States may be up to 10%. The position is on-site in Reston, Virginia. Compensation varies by level: $75,000–$117,225 for junior, $90,700–$141,775 for mid-level, and $120,700–$188,725 for senior.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance with a polygraph.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Software development experience using one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Junior level: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree and 0–3 years of related experience; or Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of related experience.
- Mid level: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; or Master's degree and 3 years of related experience; or Associate's degree and 8 years of related experience; or high school diploma/GED and 11 years of related experience. Full-stack software development experience using one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Senior level: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience; or Associate's degree and 11 years of related experience; or high school diploma/GED and 14 years of related experience. Full-stack software development experience using one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, walk, bend, and drive.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Proficiency with Git-based version control systems, including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and code review practices.
- Ability to manage and contribute to multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables and prioritizing competing requirements.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Python web frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask for RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable backend solutions.
- Ability to work across the full technology stack and willingness to learn and adopt technologies as project needs evolve.
- Experience in Agile development environments, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.
- Proficiency in Python 3, including modern language features, type hinting, and package management best practices.
