About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission. The initial assignment involves helping automate a federal agency's high-volume filer application process. This will transform a manual, document-heavy process into an intelligent pipeline that reads, understands, and routes submissions using OCR and AI in the cloud. The work is described as real, hard, and important. The company emphasizes hiring people for their potential and moving them to where the hardest problems are, rather than filling specific seats.

Requirements

Python programming skills.
Experience building document-processing systems in the cloud, specifically using OCR through extraction (e.g., Amazon Textract or equivalents).
Experience with data validation, matching, APIs, and SQL for document processing pipelines.
Judgment to build systems in a regulated environment where accuracy and auditability are critical.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

Responsibilities

Build document-intelligence services that extract structure and meaning from filings at scale, using OCR and AI with confidence scoring and routing logic.
Develop validation and review processes, including exact and fuzzy matching, business rules, and human-review workflows for machine-assisted decision-making.
Contribute to the development of new capabilities, tools, and lines of business within the firm over time.
