About The Position

MANTECH is seeking a Software Developer I to join its team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The role is part of a development team building web applications, backend services, and automation workflows. The developer will primarily use Python for backend development and gain exposure to front-end technologies. The position offers opportunities for career growth, mentoring, and hands-on experience with modern software development tools. The work supports government intelligence agencies and requires an active TS/SCI clearance, the ability to obtain a CI polygraph, and U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant software development experience; internships and academic projects are also considered.
• Proficiency in Python, including writing scripts and backend applications.
• Experience with Git for source control and collaboration.
• Some understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with basic relational databases.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Must have or be willing to successfully complete a CI polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with TypeScript for enhancing JavaScript applications.
• Experience building React components and managing state.
• Experience containerizing applications using Docker.
• Exposure to Ansible for automating server configurations and deployments.
• Basic experience in Linux system administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, engineering, analysis, and development of software systems.
• Assist in designing, analyzing, and developing software delivery processes, including DevOps pipelines.
• Participate in software development and deployment processes.
• Contribute in a junior role to IT application development activities and take direction from senior personnel.
• Collaborate with other Software Developer Is.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code for backend services and web application logic.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end systems.
• Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create responsive, interactive web applications.
