About The Position

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking a Software Developer to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The position is full time in Bethesda, Maryland and/or offers remote work. The developer contributes to development efforts that support product team and organizational goals and initiatives while learning software development practices from an experienced team. Work is performed under the guidance of the Technical Program Manager and the Technical Lead.

Requirements

At least a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Experience developing software applications in Python.
Understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience working with SQL databases.
Ability to work with structured documents such as XML, JSON, and CSV.
Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as a team player.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing software with GoLang, C++, and/or Java.
Understanding of ASN.1.

Responsibilities

Work with the Software Development team on front-end and back-end software development tasks.
Contribute to design discussions for new software development efforts.
Learn Software Development practices from an experienced team.
Participate in software documentation activities with the team.
Work as an integral part of an agile product team to deliver a great user experience.
