About The Position

This role is responsible for translating technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, and maintaining and conducting unit tests. The position also involves resolving and troubleshooting technical problems that arise during the use and operation of software packages, including providing technical assistance in implementation, conversion, and migrations.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data analysis developing business intelligence and reporting in a medium to large size corporate environment demonstrating detailed knowledge of BI functions such as analytics, data modeling & data mining, reporting, report conversion and data cleansing.
Experience in Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Storage, ADF, Azure Analysis Service
Experience with cloud platform like Azure and working knowledge for cloud migration
Experience with Microsoft Azure data analytics tools, such as, Azure Data Factories, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse
Advance knowledge of writing complex SQL queries.
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Experience in programming and analysis; specialized software package support at the specified experience level
Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
Experience in design, code, test, debug and document applications
Experience in the use of object and/or third generation language development tools
Experience in one or more programming languages
Experience in application design, latest design patterns, deployment and troubleshooting
Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using query languages
Experience with one or more communications protocols
Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications
Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
Experience with middleware and gateways
Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

Nice To Haves

Experience with Siebel modules such as Public Sector CRM, Contracts, Lead, Management, Partner, Public Sector Partner Portal, Campaign Management, Marketing, Resource Manager, and Public Sector eService would be an asset
Experience with Transfer Payments would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed programming specifications
Write and/or generate code
Compile data-driven programs
Maintain and conduct unit tests
Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems arising during software use and operation
Provide technical assistance in implementation, conversion, and migrations
Design and develop BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements
Implement, maintain, and support BI solutions in Microsoft and other BI platforms
Curate data from multiple data sources for an efficient presentation in an enterprise environment
Recommend improvements to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, usability, and value
Document 'As Built' reports and all data transformations deployed to production
Take ownership of end-to-end development of each dashboard and report being developed
Manage PowerBI workspaces, report access, and report deployment
Develop best practices in an enterprise environment for PowerBI
Provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues
Conduct design walkthrough sessions with the project team
Provide user and system documentation as required
