About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company with 185,000 employees, is seeking a Software Developer Principal Engineer P4. Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems, is part of RTX. The Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) organization within Pratt & Whitney is responsible for the development and certification of military, commercial, and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. This includes requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. The role involves integrating control and diagnostic system design across engine system modules and with air vehicles, providing support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. The successful candidate will apply their understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering, including the software development lifecycle, software development process, design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture to develop software products.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 5 years’ experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1 (L Clearance)

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and debug OBPHM Services in Linux Kubernetes environment.
Develop software code that implements requirements, working closely with customers, stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts.
Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework
Work with a team of Java and Python software developers within an Agile framework across multiple projects.
Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs
Perform software verification within the Agile Framework including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results
Participating in Agile ceremonies
Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking per Agile framework
Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master and/or part of the Development Team
Review and analyze offboard software requirements.
Conduct code reviews.
Troubleshoot code and build issues and support released software and deployments.
Implement, adhere to, and continuously improve software development processes and procedures
