Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Developer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems sector in Chantilly, VA The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Jenga B Program with in Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems

Requirements

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027
  • Be majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027
  • Have U.S. citizenship
  • Java or C# or C/C++
  • Clearance is required to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
  • Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
  • Web development (HTML, CSS). Preferably experience with any/all of Python Flask web framework, Gunicorn and NGINX
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system (package installation/removal, file permissions, network configuration, shell environment etc.)
  • Powershell, MongoDB, Ansible, Git
  • Exposure to basic networking (e.g. routing/switching and security)

Responsibilities

  • Basic software development experience used to develop applications using Python, JavaScript and other tools based on requirements
  • Use GitLab for code management including bug tracking, testing and push to production
  • Ability to research, solve problems and carry out tasks with minimal supervision
  • Create and/or update documentation / instructions as directed
  • Ability to work well remotely with a virtual team
