The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for a Software Developer Intern to join our Dewar team in our Quincy, MA office located at 4 Batterymarch Park. The projected start date is late August 2026, and the internship will last approximately 3-4 months. As a Software Developer Intern, you will work closely with our development team to support project management, development, and application administration tasks. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in .Net, Angular, SQL, Power BI and more.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL.
Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools (e.g., .NET, Angular, Visual Studio).
Understanding of relational databases and basic data modeling concepts.
Exposure to version control systems like GitHub or Git.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies and development practices.

Nice To Haves

Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in software development or application support.
Experience working with tools such as SSMS, Jira, Power BI, Power Automate, and GitHub.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management practices.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration concepts.
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (a plus, but not required).

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of web applications using technologies such as .NET, Angular, and SQL.
Assist in building and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support application functionality and reporting needs.
Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues across various applications.
Participate in code reviews and team discussions to learn best practices and improve code quality.
Support the creation and enhancement of Power BI dashboards to deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Help maintain documentation for code, systems, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
Engage in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
Perform other development-related duties as needed to support team and business goals.
