About The Position
We currently have an opportunity for a Software Developer Intern to join our Dewar team in our Quincy, MA office located at 4 Batterymarch Park. The projected start date is late August 2026, and the internship will last approximately 3-4 months. As a Software Developer Intern, you will work closely with our development team to support project management, development, and application administration tasks. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in .Net, Angular, SQL, Power BI and more.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL.
- Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools (e.g., .NET, Angular, Visual Studio).
- Understanding of relational databases and basic data modeling concepts.
- Exposure to version control systems like GitHub or Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies and development practices.
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in software development or application support.
- Experience working with tools such as SSMS, Jira, Power BI, Power Automate, and GitHub.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management practices.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (a plus, but not required).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of web applications using technologies such as .NET, Angular, and SQL.
- Assist in building and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to support application functionality and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues across various applications.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions to learn best practices and improve code quality.
- Support the creation and enhancement of Power BI dashboards to deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Help maintain documentation for code, systems, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Engage in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
- Perform other development-related duties as needed to support team and business goals.
