About The Position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a full-time, 100% U.S.-based remote position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a software development and testing role, not an SQA tester position; strong programming skills are required. The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen and must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI). Candidates residing in California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. This is a W-2 position. The SDET develops and executes test plans, test cases, procedures, and scripts to verify that information systems, products, and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. The role leads software and IT system testing, performs verification activities, communicates test results, supports issue resolution, documents complex problems, and reports progress and test metrics. The position may also involve other systems engineering activities, including requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support. The role applies technical principles and independently develops solutions to difficult problems, evaluates results, and reviews completed work against objectives. It includes contributing to programs and projects, providing technical solutions to customers and other organizations, and potentially providing direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Applicants must be able to substantiate screening-question responses with their resumes. Interviews are conducted on Microsoft Teams with the camera on, and candidates will be asked to provide a LinkedIn profile link.
