Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Software Developer in Test to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a full-time, 100% U.S.-based remote W-2 position. Candidates located in California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. The salary range is $85,389–$116,975. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI). Selected applicants are subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This is not an SQA tester position; strong programming skills are required. The SDET develops and executes test plans, cases, procedures, and scripts to verify that information systems, products, and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. The role includes leading software and IT systems testing, performing verification activities, documenting and analyzing results, supporting issue resolution, creating test metrics, and proposing improvements to testing procedures. The position may occasionally involve other IT systems engineering activities, including requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support. The role requires independent technical problem-solving, sound judgment, and the ability to develop practical solutions to difficult technical issues. The SDET contributes to programs and projects, works with internal organizations and external customers, and may provide direction to employees and mentor junior testers. Interviews are conducted on Microsoft Teams with cameras on, and applicants are asked to provide a LinkedIn profile link. Syms Strategic Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
