About The Position

LCRA is seeking a software developer to develop, modify, and support complex software applications within a sophisticated enterprise network and infrastructure environment. In this role you will interpret user requirements, design and build databases, and develop applications from the ground up. Beyond code development, our ideal candidate will be patching servers, applying operating system and application updates, and remediating Cyber vulnerabilities promptly and consistently. Effective teamwork is essential in our group, including collaborating with other developers, providing excellent technical support, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in developing and programming/coding software applications or relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or computer information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling and SQL Server database management, including stored procedures, triggers, and replication.
  • Hands-on experience with AI‑powered code generation tools and enterprise code repositories.
  • Experience installing server OS and software patches and remediating cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
  • Experience building custom GIS solutions using ESRI ArcGIS tools (e.g., Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro).

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications on the current Microsoft .NET platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Evaluate, implement, and upgrade commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Refactor or rewrite existing software to support evolving functional, performance, or architectural needs.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and QA teams to support development activities.
  • Develop and manage SQL Server databases—including stored procedures, triggers, data transformations, and replication.
  • Build solutions using approved enterprise AI‑powered development tools and code repositories.
