As a Software Developer II, you will be responsible for the design, documentation, coding, unit testing, systems testing, and deployment of software applications related to advanced image analysis in the ophthalmic disease space. This will include advanced image analysis for optical coherence tomography, fluorescein angiography, and fundus photography. Key goals for this position are to continue development of software platforms to support imaging biomarker discover in retinal diseases, such as macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 4:30pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with appropriate academic software development experience may be substitute for the work experience requirement.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or other related field and 3 years software development.
  • If position is hired into the Digital Mobile Department, a minimum of 2 years iOS and/or Android development experience required.
  • If position is hired into Cleveland Clinic Research Institute, 2 years’ experience in bioinformatics software development and/or 2 years’ experience managing and analyzing clinical and bioinformatics research data may be substituted.
  • If position is hired to support the ServiceNow technology, a minimum of 2 years ServiceNow experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science or engineering.
  • Experience with hospital or medical systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the design, documentation, coding, unit testing, systems testing, and deployment of software applications.
  • Work closely with other developers, project managers, analysts, leaders and clinicians to obtain regular feedback on design and development.
  • Utilize knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with knowledge of software development and methodologies.
  • Iterate with team members around analysis, design and development of software systems.
  • Be responsible for developing new software and proofing/testing the development to assure production of a quality product.
  • Work with lead developers, lead engineers, and senior developers to ensure software development and engineering standards are met.
  • Make recommendations which yield a more cost-effective product and better streamlined work flows while supporting team strategy in development approach.
  • Observe operational and clinical workflow, and work to build solutions around observed behaviors.
  • Help to translate clinical problems into innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Provide technical support to other developers when project support is needed.
  • Gather business and application specific requirements.
  • Ensure all requirements are met as well as maintained within defined project scope and documented within documentation management system.
  • Keep up with industry trends and bring new ideas and industry solutions to healthcare for a unique application.
