About The Position

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is hiring a Software Developer I for its Corporate IT team. The role is based in the Canton, MA; Boston, MA; Farmington, CT; or Raleigh, NC offices on a hybrid schedule. The developer works with stakeholders, product owners, and agile team members to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions. The role builds defined features, writes tests, and participates fully in the agile process and the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, a degree from a technical school, or equivalent work experience.
• On-the-job training is recognized.
• 1–3 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in Property Casualty or Specialty Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to discussions with product owners and agile team members to understand business requirements.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle, assisting with analysis and design recommendations and taking part in coding, testing, and implementation.
• Learn and follow company standards, policies, and procedures within an agile environment.
• Convert user stories into programmable solutions.
• Document and communicate project and task progress with the agile team.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner.
