Software Developer, Full Stack (Client Experience)

DialogueMontreal, QC
Hybrid

About The Position

The Software Developer, Full Stack joins the Client Reporting team within Dialogue's Client Stream. This role involves working alongside a senior developer, a data analyst, a data developer, a product manager, and a designer. The work spans two connected mandates: contributing to the development of Dialogue's React-based admin portal used by all clients to manage member eligibility and access reports, and bridging the gap between the software and data engineering sides of the team. This role is distinct due to its data angle, requiring a full stack developer who is curious about data movement, transformation, and surfacing to end users, and eager to work with data pipelines, not just the web layer. The developer will collaborate with the data analyst and data engineer to connect reporting outputs of the interface, and will grow in both web development skills and exposure to data engineering practices.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional software development experience, with solid foundations in both front-end and back-end development.
  • Comfortable with React and TypeScript — or strong JavaScript fundamentals and readiness to learn TypeScript.
  • Back-end experience in Python and comfort working with REST APIs.
  • Genuine interest in data engineering, understanding data pipelines, data transformation, and the connection between software and data systems.
  • Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to ask good questions, share work early, and engage with cross-disciplinary teammates.
  • Ownership of work, including following through on tasks, proactively flagging blockers, and focusing on quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL, dbt, Snowflake, or Airflow.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, CircleCI, or Datadog.

Responsibilities

  • Develop features for the React (TypeScript) frontend, including building new features, fixing bugs, improving existing components, and participating in code reviews.
  • Build and maintain full-stack features end-to-end, from the React UI to the Python backend services.
  • Act as a connector between the software and data sides of the team, translating reporting data structures into front-end integrations and embedding reporting visualizations.
  • Support data-adjacent development tasks, including wiring up data pipelines, writing/reviewing scripts and tooling, and understanding the broader data stack.
  • Participate in production operations, including deployments, monitoring service health with Datadog, and understanding the infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to understand project requirements, contribute technical perspectives, and manage deliverables.
  • Grow skills across both web and data engineering dimensions with support from senior developers and team leads.
