About The Position

This full-time Information Technology role combines software development with IT support for two customers: providing IT support to one and web server development to the other. The employee will support Tier 1–3 issues for more than 1,200 civilian and contractor users while developing and maintaining software in PHP and Python. The role offers opportunities to refactor legacy code, learn about Navy operations and CACI’s support of the Navy, and strengthen communication and documentation skills.

Requirements

Degree in a field relevant to software development.
Comfort developing in PHP and Python.
Must have or be able to obtain a Secret or interim Secret clearance.
Must have or be able to achieve CompTIA Security+ certification before the start date.
Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and written skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous professional experience in a Navy environment.
Advanced PHP and Python development skills.
Previous professional IT expertise.

Responsibilities

Work with customers to define software development requirements.
Provide software development support through bug fixes, new features, and code cleanup.
Handle Tier 1–3 IT issues submitted by phone, functional mailbox, leadership, or in person.
Troubleshoot issues involving software and hardware.
Create SOPs and user guides for Navy IT processes, and document completed software development work professionally.
Maintain a web server currently coded in PHP and implement minor features.
Convert the current PHP web server solution to Python.
