About The Position

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Software Dev Engineer IV to join their talented team. This role involves designing, developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and delivering large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. The engineer will work with multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java and C, JDBC, SQL, Object Oriented design and design patterns, Oracle, and middleware messaging systems within a Linux environment. Responsibilities include assisting in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications for scalable solutions, and owning the delivery of system or application components. The role also requires serving as a technical lead on complex projects, adhering to engineering standards, producing software documentation, and participating in a 24x7 on-call support rotation. Travel for onsite troubleshooting or project launch may be required.

Requirements

MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related.
Experience in the job offered or related occupation must involve multi-threaded programming and distributed programming in Java or C on Linux.
Experience must also involve JDBC, SQL, and Object Oriented design and design patterns.
Requires availability for travel and 24x7 on-call support rotation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent to the Master's degree.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, test, document, and deliver large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
Utilize multi-threaded programming, distributed programming in Java and C, JDBC, SQL, Object Oriented design and design patterns, Oracle, and middleware messaging systems in a Linux environment.
Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements.
Translate requirements into technical specifications for robust, scalable, supportable solutions.
Ensure solutions work well within the overall system architecture.
Own the delivery of entire pieces of a system or application.
Serve as a technical lead on complex projects using best practice engineering standards.
Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
Travel for onsite troubleshooting or project launch.
