The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Software Engineer to focus on the development of Calibration Software and Calibration Tool products within the Defense and Aerospace Business Unit. This individual will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager. Software Calibration development tasks consist of writing and maintaining software that presents a programmatic interface to the low-level hardware of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The software is intended to control the hardware (PXI test instrumentation). The code that is developed will interface to hardware directly and through firmware.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Proficient in C/C++ and C# or equivalent
  • Proficient with Visual Studio or equivalent
  • Firm grasp of software development lifecycle
  • Proficient with hardware-facing software
  • Proficient with MongoDB, Postgres, or equivalent database toolset
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and waveform generators
  • Familiarity with process automation
  • Familiarity with the use of I2C / SPI bus or Microcontroller usage
  • Excellent written, verbal, and group communication skills.
  • Experience with Source Control Management (Azure / Git)
  • Experience working with test and measurement industry standards, like PXI, VXI, LXI.
  • Experience with Z540.1 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • UI Development experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop Software Calibration Drivers and assist with release cycles.
  • Debug Software Driver modules through the software toolset, working closely with hardware and firmware engineers.
  • Develop and maintain internal software calibration tools to assist in the development and debugging process.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools to measure and ensure the quality of the delivered software.
  • Develop and interpret process documents and determine what data collection is needed and how to analyze the data.
  • Investigate test data results and develop more efficient test software. Go beyond individual defect investigation and characterization to understanding defect trends to influence testing directions.
  • Ensure Calibration processes are Z540.1 and ISO 17025 compliant.
