About The Position

Hatch Studio is looking for its first Business Development & Discovery Lead to own outreach end to end: finding the right people, starting real conversations, and booking qualified meetings. The role involves selling AEPilot-powered managed delivery, where clients start with a paid Planning Sprint to create a clear plan, budget, and timeline. The company focuses on regulated and operations-heavy sectors such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, energy and utilities, transportation and logistics, the public sector, and regulated manufacturing. This is a hybrid position based in Vancouver or remote within Canada, requiring alignment with Pacific Time business hours.

Requirements

  • Software Delivery Experience: Real experience in or around the software development lifecycle (e.g., developer, QA, business analyst, product owner, project manager, or technical account manager) to hold credible initial conversations.
  • B2B Sales: Proven B2B sales or business development experience in outbound, with a track record of booking meetings and qualifying leads, ideally selling services or software to non-technical business buyers.
  • Modern Tooling: Daily use of AI tools for efficiency, with a critical approach to reviewing and refining AI-generated output.
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and spoken business English, communicating clearly, warmly, and in plain language.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work during Pacific Time Zone regular business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Research and build target lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, referrals, and warm introductions.
  • Run outreach campaigns via LinkedIn, email, and phone.
  • Hold open, curious discovery conversations about how companies use AI to build software and identify potential issues.
  • Qualify prospects based on project, budget owner, timing, and fit for a Planning Sprint, and book qualified meetings.
  • Write detailed notes after every conversation, capturing role, industry, problems, exact phrases used, and interest level, and maintain a clean CRM.
  • Feed buyer language back into the company's messaging monthly.
  • Help shape outbound campaigns based on learnings from outreach and conversations.
