About the position
Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a Software Architect to support the development and maintenance of a cloud-based platform for cyber operations in the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will coordinate and integrate work across legacy platforms, enhance and develop new applications and services, and modernize capabilities through an agile process. This primarily remote position requires on-site support in San Antonio, TX two days a week. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in IT Security or Information Systems, extensive experience as a Software or Systems Engineer, and at least 4 years of experience as an Architect. They should also have knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud architecture, and experience with various software development languages and frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and integrate work across legacy platforms
- Provide support to enhance and develop new applications, analytics, and services
- Modernize capabilities through an agile, evolving requirement identification and prioritization process
- Provide primarily remote support with as-needed on-site support two days a week in San Antonio, TX
- Be physically located in the San Antonio area or surrounding areas
- Utilize the tech stack environment including Istio, ElasticSearch/Kibana/Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana, Twistlock, ArgoCD, Kubernetes/Helm/Docker/Gitlab CICD, AWS, Terraform/Ansible, Python Jupyter/PyTorch/TensorFlow
- Have a Bachelor's degree in IT Security, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Have 10+ years of experience as Software or Systems Engineers
- Have a minimum of 4 years specifically as an Architect
- Have previous experience developing software in an Agile environment
- Possess extensive knowledge of DevOps practices including microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, Platform as a Service (Kubernetes or PCF), and infrastructure as code
- Have knowledge of ICD 503 and RMF with previous experience getting Authorization to Operate (ATO) for an application or system
- Have experience using modern software development languages and frameworks and experience with the technologies listed above
- Ability to convey complex ideas through conversation, briefings, and presentations.
Requirements

- 10+ years of experience as Software or Systems Engineers
- Minimum of 4 years specifically as an Architect
- Previous experience developing software in an Agile environment
- Extensive knowledge of DevOps practices including microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, Platform as a Service (Kubernetes or PCF), and infrastructure as code
- Knowledge of ICD 503 and RMF with previous experience obtaining Authorization to Operate (ATO) for an application or system
- Experience using modern software development languages and frameworks
- Familiarity with the tech stack environment listed above
- Ability to convey complex ideas through conversation, briefings, and documentation
