About The Position

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Senior Applications Engineer in the Information Management Division. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: To Serve as a Software Integration Developer for the Information Management division to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise integration solutions that support Java/JEE based applications, CRMS Talend ETL program and EPS IBM SOA products like ODM, WAS, MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM Transformation Extender (ITX). The individual in this position is responsible for mission critical applications supported by DMAS and have extensive experience in enterprise application integration, ETL development, API services, EDI transactions, middleware technologies, and healthcare-related data exchanges. Support mission-critical systems that facilitate communication and data sharing between DMAS, healthcare providers, managed care organizations, state agencies, external partners and working with the IM project manager, IM project management staff, other members of the project team, and stakeholders. The business needs for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to attending internal meetings, engaging with external stakeholders, training and occasional conferences. Located in beautiful Central Virginia, the Richmond area puts you just 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia Beach and Washington DC. Requirements

  • Considerable experience with ETL concepts, data transformation, and enterprise integration methodologies.
  • Considerable experience with ETL platforms such as Talend or Informatica or any ETL platform.
  • Considerable experience designing, developing and maintaining Java based solutions using common standards and frameworks.
  • Considerable experience with development using tools such as SQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Considerable experience with analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Considerable experience with creating and maintaining system documentations.
  • Work-related knowledge and experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Experience prioritizing and planning work to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience communicating with both internal and external business stakeholders and technical resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD implementation.
  • Experience with Node.js, Express.js, and Angular development.
  • Experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).
  • Experience with cloud-based integration solutions.
  • Experience with understanding and interpreting the business requirements and developing solutions that meet them.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicaid Enterprise Solutions (MES).
