About The Position
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Lipscomb University Softball Program. Coaching includes instruction, mentoring and leadership, academic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Coach. This position must adhere to the policies set forth by director supervisors, Head Coach and Athletic Director, as well as Lipscomb University, the A-SUN Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1 to 3 years of experience
- Strong organizational, oral, written, teaching and computer skills
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Strong leadership and management skills
- CPR Certification
- Requires normal courteous interaction and basic interpersonal skills and tact to communicate with others
- Supervise student workers, interns, or part-time staff
- Access to confidential information including Organizational Plans, Development Programs, Scholarship, etc.

Responsibilities

- Recruiting (email correspondence, on-campus recruiting, off-campus recruiting)
- Travel throughout the year for recruiting and competition is required
- Assist with team travel planning & coordinate team meals
- Scouting/Video Analysis
- Outreach Coordinator
- Assist with logging CARA hours & recruiting info into Teamworks
- Assist with pregame warm-up
- In-game scouting & coaching
- Assist with gear inventory
- Work & help lead camps
- Monitor chapel credits
- Assist in planning team/program events
