About The Position

The soft count clerk assists the Slot Team with early morning drop of the machines. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty described below satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This job is team oriented, highly regulated and under constant observation. Soft Count Clerks must be dependable, able to follow instruction, and respond well to feedback. Clerks must demonstrate superior judgment, be responsible and be able to deal with others in a considerate, positive manner. This position requires attention to detail and involves repetitive actions and clerks must be able to lift up to 50lbs without restrictions. There are long periods of standing, regular bending and stooping are required. Soft count clerks process large volumes of cash and slot tickets. It is a casino environment exposed to bright lights, noise, changing temperatures and smoke. Wages depend on experience and longevity.

Requirements

  • Good communications (reading/writing/speaking) in English
  • Good basic Math skills
  • Basic knowledge of ten key
  • Basic computer skills and cash handling
  • Must be at least 21 or older
  • Must hold and maintain a License from the Nevada Gaming Control Board
  • Fingerprinting and background check required for License, fees apply for this service
  • Soft Count Clerks must always follow all NV Gaming Regulations and Reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in count rooms is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Remove boxes from gaming machines/tables
  • Remove slot tickets and cash from boxes, sort and count using provided currency count machines, bundle and strap as appropriate
  • Record sorted, strapped, and bundled cash and tickets on a worksheet and upload to the gaming reporting system
  • Turn over cash to cage personnel to be placed in the vault
  • Enter data accurately into computers and retrieve data when needed
  • Balance all money/tickets and ensure all paperwork is signed and dated
  • Notify the MOD immediately if a counterfeit bill is found so the SSF 1604 Form can be completed and reporting to SSA can be done timely
  • Maintain count room security according to security protocols at all times
  • Ensure all boxes are fully emptied and clearly shown to the cameras
  • Ensure all boxes once removed from the machine during drop are taken immediately to the vault cart and never put down anywhere else during drop
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow daily, weekly, monthly cleaning schedules provided by management
  • Follow instruction, and respond well to feedback
  • Adapt to change in a positive manner and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected deadlines
  • Understand and comply with state, federal, company and departmental rules and regulations
  • Adhere to all guidelines and policies established in the Employee Handbook
  • Perform other job duties when assigned by management
