Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • A master's degree in social work followed by one year of social services experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, medication assisted treatment, and high-risk patients in crisis.
  • Completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, screenings, treatment via individual/family/group therapy, as well as discharge plans for patients, and families as needed.
  • Works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care, as well as continuity of care, and will prepare and send progress reports to the appropriate social service agencies and referral sources as required.
  • May assist in the acquisition of appropriate resources as needed.
  • May collect routine urine drug samples for labs and rapid assessment if required.
  • Works collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists, Case Management, and Care Coordination for patients with mental health and substance use disorders that may require additional support and coordination of services.
