About The Position
This is a casual position for a Social Worker in the Inpatient BHU at Hillsdale Hospital. The work schedule is determined by need, generally involving 1.5 to 3 hour shifts at a time, including on Saturdays and Sundays, with 1 to 2 weekends per month. The role requires adherence to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics or equivalent. The position also requires obtaining Certified Social Worker (CSW) or equivalent from the State of Michigan within two years, and completion of BLS, TEAMS, and other hospital-required training.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited master’s degree program, school of social work and/or school of counseling
- Effective communication in relation to medical and other staff, both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work and/or counseling required
- Adherence to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and/or counseling equivalent is necessary
- Must obtain Certified Social Worker (CSW) or equivalent, from the State of Michigan within two years
- BLS, TEAMS and other hospital required training required (available at Hillsdale Hospital)
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time experience as a clinical social worker preferred
- A minimum of six months of experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
- Experience to include individual, group, and family therapy
- Experience in writing psychosocial assessments and treatment plans preferred
Responsibilities
- Attending treatment team meetings
- Providing group psychotherapy
