About The Position
Hillsdale Hospital Clinics is seeking a Medical Assistant for a casual position. This role involves preparing patients for examinations and treatments, assisting providers, performing various medical procedures, and managing lab tests. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; must be from an accredited institution and meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements

Nice To Haves
- Current Michigan Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) or equivalent experience or training
- Individuals with a strong interest in and aptitude for a career in healthcare will be trained
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by completing medical history and other required forms, collecting and recording patient vital signs, and performing point of care testing (POCT)
- Set up rooms with necessary equipment and supplies as appropriate for procedures, explain processes and tests to patients, and provide relevant materials to patients
- Assist provider during procedures and chaperone as needed
- Carry out provider orders at time of provider visit or in follow up. This may include injections, breathing treatment, EKG, dressing changes, weight check, and blood pressure monitoring
- Conduct and follow up on lab tests including blood draws and urine samples
- Ensure all specimens are properly and accurately labeled, review test results, complete related paperwork and assure results are available to providers and documented in patient records
- Clean and sterilize lab test equipment and instruments
- Keep exam rooms clean and fully stocked with supplies
- Float to other clinics if it becomes necessary to meet patient care needs
