About The Position

Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking a Social Worker for the Eating Disorders Program (Intensive) – Outpatient. The Mount Sinai Hospital is a large facility with an extensive outpatient and specialty care network. Social Workers collaborate within interprofessional teams to serve patients and the larger community. The Department of Social Work Services has a long history and offers pathways to LCSW licensure, continuing education, and professional development. The Mount Sinai Center of Excellence in Eating and Weight Disorders offers specialist care, develops novel treatments, and provides education and training for individuals and families who need intensive outpatient support. The program focuses on helping patients attain and stabilize a healthy weight, normalize eating patterns, and return to a functional mode of living, utilizing a mix of in-person and virtual interventions.

Requirements

  • Licensed social workers employed across more than 65 different program/service areas.
  • Employment in our department provides a pathway to LCSW licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within interprofessional teams to serve patients and the larger community.
  • Provide comprehensive social work services and programming.
  • Serve patients and their care partners, emphasizing physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Offer specialist care within the Center of Excellence in Eating and Weight Disorders.
  • Develop novel treatments.
  • Provide education and training.
  • Deliver intensive outpatient therapeutic support.
  • Assist patients in attaining and stabilizing a healthy weight.
  • Help normalize disordered eating patterns.
  • Support patients in returning to a more functional and healthy mode of living.
  • Utilize a mixture of in-person and virtual interventions.
