At NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, social workers are highly respected and play a crucial role in research, education, and practice. This per diem Social Worker position focuses on caring for the psychiatric patient population within both inpatient and comprehensive psychiatric emergency department (CPEP) programs. The role involves coordinating discharge planning and continuum of care for patients and their families, as well as leading clinical debriefing meetings and supporting colleagues after dramatic or stressful events. The position is a per diem day flex role, with shifts Monday-Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm in inpatient service (7-hour shifts) and from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm in CPEP (12-hour shifts). Some weekends and holidays may be requested on a need basis. Employees are expected to live within a commutable distance to NYP as all roles require on-site presence.
