About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker BSW provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment, and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addictions population.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• Public relations skills
• Communication skills
• Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
• Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
• Knowledge in recovery philosophy
• Ability to identify, implement & evaluate areas of client difficulty
• Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to social and cultural diversity
• Knowledge of the population health approach and social determinants of health
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Regulations
• Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions
• Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
• Knowledge in addiction issues and mental health disorders
• Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
